The 2011 Men's Soccer season is over and after a good run on the field with a NAIA National Tournament showing the MNU team continues to garner awards; this time in the classroom. Three MNU players were recognized for their excellence in the classroom.

The criteria for being selected to this list is that a student-athlete must be a Junior or above and if having transferred must be in their 2nd year at the University, and they must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.
Cundiff was a 5th-year senior on the Men's team this year after redshirting his sophomore year due to injury. He graduated in December with a double major in Business Administration and Accounting. To be nominated, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout his or her career; start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team; be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member; be a junior or above in academic standing at the current institution; be in his or her second year at the current school if he or she is a transfer student; and submit an official copy of a certified transcript.

He has accumulated a 3.39 GPA. These regional teams are comprised of players from NCAA Div II, Div III, and NAIA institutuions.

“These awards are representative of the hard work not only on the field but in the classroom as well," said Coach Wardlaw. "It says a lot about who these young men are and what they mean to MNU. I am very proud of them and hope that their dedication and discipline serves as an example to their teammates.”

The MNU Men's Soccer Team had a team GPA of 3.34 in the Fall. This, along with their accomplishments on the field, makes the 2011 Men's Soccer team one of the best to have ever represented MNU.
