The Pioneers hosted Benedictine on Tuesday and defeated the Ravens 3-1. In the first set, the Pioneers controlled the action until late. The Ravens overcame a 5-point deficit to take a 24-23 advantage. But MNU fought off set point and grabbed the next two points for the 26-24 victory. The Ravens responsed by controlling the next set and winning rather easily 25-20. MNU then figured out the Ravens and won the third set 25-22, then finished off the match with a 25-16 drubbing. "It was nice to see the adjustments in the second half of that match," said Coach Kristin Steele. "We had to fight hard to split the first two sets, but the girls made the proper adjustment and kept the pressure on for the last two."

Anna Nostrant led the offense with 14 kills while Ashley Fantazia and Molly Brewster each added 11 kills. Kimmie Kreeger had 40 assists. Megan Hayes served up 4 aces. Laura Hamblin had 33 digs. And Nostrant had 3 blocks.

The Pioneers are 4-5 (1-0 HAAC). The next game is Tuesday the 14th at Park (3-3) at 7:00 PM.
