After 2 years with the program, MNU Head Volleyball Coach Rick Banis announced his resignation on Wednesday, effective immediately. Prior to MNU, he was an assistant coach at Bishop Kelley High School, Lewis University (IL), College of St. Mary (NE), and Newman University (KS). Coach Banis led the Pioneers to a 19-18 record and a Conference Tournament berth in 2009. Under his tutelage, MNU boasted 2 All-Conference players and 3 Conference Player of the Week honorees.

"We would like to thank Coach Banis for his excellent work in building our volleyball program," said MNU Athletic Director Kevin Steele. "And we wish him success in the future."

The search for Coach Banis' replacement will begin immediately as MNU looks to further improve its volleyball program.
