Pioneer Basketball Sweeps Player of the Year Honors

Bell and Rexroth rewarded for monster seasons

For the 4th straight year, MNU Men's Basketball is represented in the HAAC Player of the Year award. Brenton Bell joins Adam Hepker (07 & 08) and Danny Hawkins (09) as recent recipients of the honor. The senior Olathe native averaged 21.2 points (2nd in HAAC), 4.0 assists (4th), 4.0 rebounds (26th), 1.9 steals (1st), and 0.7 blocks (8th) per game. He ranks 12th in the nation in free throw percentage (85%), and he was named HAAC Player of the Week 3 times.

For the 4th time in 5 years, an MNU Women's Basketball player was honored as HAAC Player of the Year. Bethany Rexroth joins Jenna Matson (06, 07, 08) as the MNU player voted best in the conference. The senior Lenexa native averaged 18.6 points (2nd in HAAC), 9.1 rebounds (3rd), and 3.0 blocks (1st) per game. Her blocked shots numbers ranks her 6th in the nation, she was named NAIA National Player of the Week twice, and she was named HAAC Player of the Week 3 times.
