Pioneers Fall in Overtime

Bethany Rexroth's 25 points and 9 rebounds weren't enough to overcome a second half push by Benedictine as the Pioneers fell in overtime on Tuesday. The Pioneers played a very strong first half, and went into the locker room with a 9-point lead. The lead was pushed to 13 early in the second half, but the Ravens chipped away for the next 10 minutes to cut the lead to just 2 with 8 minutes remaining. A free throw tied the game with a minute left, but neither team managed to score and the game went into overtime. Benedictine continued their hot streak in the extra period and held MNU to just 2 field goals to take the game 68-62.

Rexroth added 4 blocks to her 25 points and 9 rebounds. Lindsey Sprague had 9 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals off the bench. Heather Cunard had 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. And Beth Keeley had 5 assists, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals.

The Pioneers are 11-9 (6-4 HAAC). The next game is Thursday at Avila (12-7, 6-3) at 5:30.
